Cross Country

I started cross country in my freshman year of high school. My friends and my beloved coach, Tom O’Leary, peer-pressured me into it. My first practice was TERRIBLE! I regretted joining because I did not expect to run 6 miles on the first day! What a doozy! My first year was actually my most successful one. I was getting top placements and was actually a runner-up for our varsity team. My sophomore year was a little more complicated because I had broken my left foot and ended up being a manager for the majority of the season. In my junior year season, I was a captain. I loved the feeling of being a role model for all of the younger runners, even if they were a pain in the butt sometimes. However, my season was cut short once more after I had twisted my knee and later broke my right foot. In my senior year, I hope to be a captain once again, I just hope for no broken bones!
