- The aspect of my paper that I am most proud of is the thesis statement. It laid the groundwork for my entire paper and allowed me to complete the novel with relative ease. I am proud because it required a lot of thought.
- The most difficult part of the paper was the introduction because it was arguably the most important part of my novel, and I wanted it to be right. I also had to grab the reader’s attention with the first two sentences and direct them to my thesis.
- This paper is closely tied in with critical thinking, because I had to study a novel and form my own informed opinion on it. It required me to reread the novel to get any missed information and find quotes that support my thesis. I also had to take my thoughts and formulate them into words allowing me to make coherent sentences.
- This project taught me how to effectively write a T.I.Q.A. essay. I can use this learning anytime I want to state my thoughts of something or format a speech. This is a useful skill that I can now use.
In Basic Electricity we had to write a paper on Thermostats, where we found resources online and used them to understand everything there is to know about thermostats. The thing I am most proud of is my research. As mechanical thermometers have been replaced with digital ones there aren’t as many people talking about them so I had to dive pretty deep into google to find resources. The most difficult part was finding the resources. This required critical thinking because I had to elaborate in great detail how the mechanism works. I can use the principles learned from the paper to do something with mechanisms.
During this project I had to use creativity in order to find fictional/real-life characters to put in my slides and make a biography about them in Spanish. The aspect of the project that I am most proud of is the grammar. I had to use creativity to come up with what they like to do for the fictional characters. The most difficult part was translating what I wanted to write into Spanish. In order to take my learning forward I hope to keep learning Spanish using the schools Spanish classes.
During this project I looked at different primary sources of people traveling through the middle passage. I had to study a first hand account from people traveling the middle passage. The middle passage was a part of the sea which slave traders used to get from Africa to America. It was a deadly passage not do to the waters but do to the living conditions the slaves were put through. After reviewing the documents I had to compare and contrast them. This required critical thinking because I had to ascertain whether or not the source was reliable or not and gain details from the journey in order to get a fuller picture of what happened.
