In this lab I took a cup full of bead string, and made the beads come out of the cup by only removing a few beads. This relates to Newton’s law because the momentum of the beads pulled and the momentum created the whole string to remove from the cup. The gravity accelerated the sting coming out and made it so the whole sting came out even though the majority of the bead is still in the cup. I learned how Newton’s law can be related to a real world situation.

We can read and talk about the laws all the time, but to see the laws being put in place is really cool. Seeing the laws be applied in a simple task makes me think about how many other things they are in. By thinking and using these laws we have solved so many things that make life easier. Things like reducing friction to make things travel farther has increased the way of life dramatically to the point people today can imagine how we could simply get around.

This relates to critical thinking because it makes you think about how newtons laws can be applied in real life. Not only in this demonstration/example, but in other things that we use day to day. This activity was not only fun to do and experiment with, but also has a good takeaway.
