For this project, we were asked to research as well as find information and costs for at least 6 colleges. Below is my presentation along with a reflection of this project.
REFLECTION:
What realizations/surprises did you have in the project?
One thing I found surprising was the difference in cost between the private and public schools, as well as a difference in cost by location.
What were some of the things you learned?
I learned that the cost of tuition increases every year because of inflation. I also learned that in order to pay my student loan debt back, I will need a good paying job.
What aspect of the College Project am I most proud of?
I am most proud of applying my knowledge of math to real world situations and learning a little bit about how to research colleges I could possibly attend in my future.
What aspect of completing the College Project was most difficult for me?
The most difficult aspect for me was while researching, I found a lot of conflicting data and trying to determine the most reliable source.
How does the College Project connect to the Profile of a Graduate? (6 C’s)
The College Project connects to Profile of a Graduate through the C that is Critical Thinking. I say this because I had to think critically while applying math to find costs/payments…etc, and I had to think critically while researching.
How do I plan to take this learning forward?
Going forward, I am now prepared and full of knowledge on how to research possible colleges that I am interested in attending. I also learned the importance of choosing a career that will provide enough income to pay for the college of my choice.
